The Eagles Nest, a Gorgeous Mountain Cabin overlooking the Smoky Mountains

Welcome

After a long day exploring all the Smoky Mountains has to offer, Relax in this beautiful mountain hideaway. This one-bedroom, two full-bath cabin is nestled on the side of a mountain overlooking Wears Valley, Tennessee. Wears Valley is known for its natural beauty and serene setting.
The home was tastefully renovated in July 2022 and awaits your arrival. The Main bedroom located o the lower level has a new king-size bed with a cozy electric fireplace, large TV, and a full bathroom. There is also a hot tub and bed swing off the main bedroom deck. On the main level, you will find a custom-built queen-size Murphy bed, Gas fireplace, full kitchen, and bathroom.
Enjoy your morning coffee from the large spacious deck overlooking the Valley or a warm cup of cocoa in front of the gas fireplace.

Our cabin stay was truly wonderful! The view of the neighboring mountains is absolutely breathtaking! We even (safely) encountered a family of bears passing through. The cabin was very clean and charming. The hot tub and bed swing are a perfect addition to help you truly relax. Also, very close to tourist attractions and hiking trails. Parker was a terrific host that responds immediately. Would definitely recommend!

Hiking

Laurel Falls Trailhead

Laurel Branch and the 80-foot-high Laurel Falls are named for mountain laurel, an evergreen shrub that blooms along the trail and near the falls in May. Laurel Falls is one of the park’s most popular destinations, and parking at the trailhead is limited.

Access trail: Laurel Falls Trail

Trailhead: From Sugarlands Visitor Center, turn toward Cades Cove on Little River Road and drive 3.5 miles to the trailhead, where parking areas are on both sides of the road.

Trail Notes: The roundtrip distance to the waterfall is 2.6 miles, and the hike is considered moderate in difficulty. It takes about 2 hours to hike to the waterfall and back.

Rainbow Falls

A rainbow produced by mist from this 80-foot-high waterfall is visible on sunny afternoons. An impressive ice formation builds around the falls during extended winter cold spells.

Rainbow Falls Trail gains about 1,500′ in elevation between the trailhead and falls. The 5.4-mile roundtrip hike is considered moderate in difficulty. The Rainbow Falls Trail continues for approximately 4 miles beyond the falls to the summit of Mount Le Conte.

Access Trail: Rainbow Falls Trail in the Roaring Fork area.

Trailhead: From the parkway in Gatlinburg, turn at traffic light #8 and follow Historic Nature Trail into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Continue past the Noah “Bud” Ogle homesite to the signed Rainbow Falls parking area.

Trail Notes: The roundtrip distance to the waterfall is 5.4 miles, and the hike is generally considered moderate in difficulty. However, due to the length, elevation gain, and rocky terrain in sections of the trail, some visitors may rate the hike as strenuous. It takes about 3-5 hours to hike to the waterfall and back.

Grotto Falls

Trillium Gap Trail meanders through an old-growth hemlock forest and runs behind the 25-foot-high waterfall. The cool, moist environment near the falls is ideal for salamanders and summer hikers. The hike is 3 miles roundtrip and considered moderate in difficulty.

Access trail: Trillium Gap Trail on the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail

Trailhead: From the parkway in Gatlinburg, turn at traffic light #8 and follow Historic Nature Trail into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Take Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail to stop #5, where there is a large parking area. Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail is a narrow, winding, one-way road closed in winter. Buses, RVs, and large trucks are prohibited on the road.

Trail Notes: The roundtrip distance to the waterfall is 2.6 miles, and the hike is generally considered moderate in difficulty. It takes about 2-3 hours to hike to the waterfall and back.
